R. H. Conwell Closing

Below is a letter sent to R. H. Conwell Parents Monday (12/20/2021) evening:

Good Evening Families:

After our positive case last week, we identified 33 close contacts within the school, spanning between two classrooms. We have since been informed that unfortunately 3 more individuals within the building are currently positive, and some with parents/guardians who have either tested positive or are showing symptoms. Many more within the building are symptomatic and currently awaiting PCR test results. Because of the relationships between those who have tested positive and other students within the building, the Worthington Board of Health has recommended that we close the building to eliminate any further spread.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: THE SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED TO STUDENTS AND STAFF FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK. THE SCHOOL WILL REOPEN ON JANUARY 4TH, 2022 FOLLOWING OUR WINTER RECESS.

If your child was identified as a close contact to our initial case, it is HIGHLY recommended that they continue to quarantine and be re-tested to ensure they are not infected. If you or your child develops any symptoms, such as cough, body aches, headache, or runny nose.. Please obtain a test immediately (PCR recommended). As always, please continue to communicate any symptoms or positive cases to Nurse Sam at spease@hr-k12.org

Have a safe and happy holiday break!  We look forward to welcoming everyone back together in January!

Warmly,

Gretchen Morse-Dobosz
Superintendent/Principal
