News for the Community from Superintendent/Principal Dobosz – 2/26/2021

Greetings Community,

Hope this message finds you well!  It’s been so wonderful to have the students back in the building after a week off for winter break.  Sounds like the students enjoyed their week and it looks as if everyone has grown a few inches taller!

School Wide-Data:  At Conwell we gather data three times a year in order to measure student progress.  We use this data to make sure students don’t fall through the cracks, measure program effectiveness , assess instructional effectiveness, guide curriculum development and allocate resources wisely.   This year we have been so impressed with the data results.  All students are making good gains this year despite the extended time out of school from March until June.  Please follow the link to view the data presentation our teacher, Emily Lak shared with the school committee last month.  There is certainly so much to celebrate and be proud of when it comes to the teaching and learning at Conwell.

Worthington School District Mid Year Data

100th Day:  The 100th day of school is Monday, March 1, 2021.  The classroom teachers and PTO are planning several fun activities to celebrate 100 days of teaching and learning.  In my newsletter next week, I will share how each class celebrated this day!

Drop Off/Pick Up:  Thanks to all our families who are following the new drop-off and pick-up traffic flow procedure.  It seems to be working out great.  A couple of friendly reminders.

  • Please pull all the way up to the orange cone.
  • If you are parking, please make sure your child walks up the path with an adult.

Message from Nurse Meg:  Nurse Meg would really love donations of ripped and torn snow pants and single gloves of all sizes. These can be repaired and paired(!) to loan to your mud and slush loving children. Many thanks!
