Next up at the cafe on May 22 is Dave Christopolis and The Resistance:
“Check out a night of original music perform by The Resistance, an experimental 5 piece ensemble featuring Pete Adams on Pedal Steel, Mike Slahetka on stunt guitar, Bruce Mandero on mandolin/acoustic guitar, Jim Dean on drums and objects and composer Dave Christo on Upright bass, electric bass, uke, theramin and vocals. The material is punk blues that swings. The group will weave its way through an improvisational performance of words and music in a two hour interactive sonic performance. Support local music and join us to celebrate our beloved Friday Night Cafe”.
The show is from 7:00-9:00 at the Village Church in beautiful downtown Cummington in the heart of the Cummington Cultural District. The event is free, donations are appreciated, snacks are provided, BYO drinks. The show will take place in the intimate Vestry space. Once again brought to you by the friendly folks at the Village Church who believe music can be a powerful force for building community.
Friday Night Cafe receives promotional support from the Cummington Cultural District, and is supported in part by grants from the Ashfield, Chesterfield, Cummington, Goshen Hinsdale-Peru, Plainfield, Williamsburg, Windsor, and Worthington Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
