Many Hilltown Open Studio Tour artists are inspired by their local landscape, either represented in their work, or with locally-sourced materials and natural themes.

Live Demonstrations:
Beyond visiting participating artists where they work (and live), the Hilltown Open Studio Tour gives visitors the opportunity to experience the creative process, talk with artists directly about their work, and see where their work is made—and how the places they work inform their art. The Hilltowns have been a stronghold of creativity for generations, and tour artists have taken up this mantle and continue to define rural art practices in Western Mass. Join us for live demonstrations offered by many participating artists to learn more, use our program schedule below as a guide.
Visiting the Hilltowns:The Hilltowns are beautiful and feel remote as they unfold between the Berkshires and the Pioneer Valley, yet are accessible for both day trips and the perfect fall weekend. The Hilltowns are located 30 minutes from the Berkshires, Springfield, Holyoke, Greenfield, or Northampton—full of breathtaking outlooks to view the foothills and winding along clear, cool rivers. HOST is full of opportunities to fill senses with art and everything the Hilltowns have to offer.
