The Healey-Driscoll Administration will be hosting a series of public listening sessions on energy facility siting in Worthington, Pittsfield, Blandford, and Shutesbury.
These sessions will provide an opportunity for community members to share their perspectives with Administration leaders, ask questions, and learn more about the new energy facility siting law.
The first public listening session is in Worthington:

Clean energy infrastructure—solar, battery storage, wind—are a critical part of our future. At the same time, Central and Western MA have long been home to some of the state’s more important natural and working lands—the farms, forests, and wetlands that do so much to protect our air, water, biodiversity, and climate. We must strike a balance to make sure we can lower our energy costs and reduce pollution, while also protecting our natural resources. These sessions will provide an opportunity for state government officials to hear directly from residents their questions and concerns. It will afford an opportunity to share information, including about the rights and protections afforded to towns and cities under the new energy siting law that went into effect on July 1. It will help state agencies that are just beginning to implement the law understand how to improve communications and support for towns and cities as they address current project proposals and approach longer term land use planning.
