Friday Night Cafe 1/12/2024

The 2024 Friday Night Cafe season begins on January 12 with the wondrous Stephen Katz. If you don’t know Stephen’s music, he plays the cello, but probably not like anything you have heard before. He calls his technique “Flying Pizzicato”. His music is at turns intensely rhythmic, funky, intricate and percussive, or sweetly soaring and melodic. Really, it is fantastic and utterly unique.     Cafe shows are from 7:00 – 9:00 at the Village Church in beautiful downtown Cummington in the heart of the Cummington Cultural District. The shows are free, snacks are provided, BYO drinks, donations are appreciated. Masks are welcome and encouraged. Please note: unlike last winter, 2024 shows will be in the intimate Vestry space.

Coming up on January 26, “Spoken Words” with Steve Philbrick and music with One Part Luck.

Friday Night Cafe is supported in part by the cultural councils of Chesterfield, Cummington, Goshen, Hinsdale/Peru, Plainfield, Williamsburg, Windsor and Worthington, local agencies supported by the Mass. Cultural Council a state agency.

Once again brought to you by the friendly folks at the Village Church who believe music can be a powerful force for building community.
