Dear Community:

Hard to believe that next week is the first week of October! The month of October is very busy with Open House, our monthly PTO meeting, and the Harvest Festival. Make sure to check the upcoming events down below!

Fall into Fun: Physical Education Classes for Preschool to Grade 6!

Get ready for an exciting season of physical education classes this Fall! We have a dynamic curriculum tailored to engage and energize all of our R H Conwell students from Preschool through Grade 6. From fundamental movements to team sports, we’re fostering a love for physical activity and healthy habits. It is important that students are dressed prepared for PE especially wearing the correct shoes!

Preschool Pioneers: Little ones will explore movement through play, building motor skills and coordination in a joyful environment.

Elementary Energizers: Grades K-2 will dive into games and activities designed to develop teamwork and basic sport skills.

Junior Athletes: Grades 3-6 will embark on a journey of sportsmanship, honing their skills in various team sports.

PTO: Our next meeting will be October 17th at 6pm with a hybrid option and coffee tea and dessert at the school. Any parents who want to come discuss our upcoming holiday events are more than welcome to join! We would love to get an early start on getting volunteers to help with our holiday bazaar since it was such a huge success last year. Please get your hillside pizza order forms by October 6th. Open house is October 19th, order forms will be going out shortly for a hot dog, hamburger, or veggie burger dinner that night. If anyone would like to donate baked goods to accompany those dinners or just for all of the families attending that would be greatly appreciated. The Harvest Festival will be on October 31st with the parade starting at 1:30. There will be goodie bags, games, donuts, and cider with a schedule to follow. Look out for a couple fun new fundraisers within the next few months. Anyone with any questions or requests can reach out to us at worthingtonpto.ma@gmail.com Thanks families!

Please PUT your orders in for R.H Conwell Tee Shirts and your Hillside Pizza Order! All forms were sent home in your child(s) folder. Tee shirt orders are due 9/30 (that’s an online order), and pizza orders are due October 6th.

PTO meetings will typically be on the third Thursday of each month with the next one scheduled on October 17. This will be a hybrid meeting. Coffee and homemade cookies will be served if you attend the meeting in person! Hope to see you there!

Picture Retakes: You should be receiving an email from the school photographer with the picture previews. Retakes will be on Friday, October 6, 2023.

Open House: Will be on October 19 with a PTO sponsored dinner of hot dogs and hamburgers will be available beginning at 5:00PM in the cafeteria. Watch for the flyer from the PTO to sign up!

Volunteers: We are looking for community members to substitute and/or volunteer at R.H. Conwell. And, currently we are looking for someone to consistently volunteer on FRIDAY’s.  Please call Lisa at 413-238-5856.

Chocolate Bars: We still have many boxes of chocolate and we would love to get them sold. Please stop by the office or send in money with your child if interested in buying some.

Tomatoes were served with ranch, roasted, and made into a quesadilla with broccoli and cheddar cheese! Check out the recipe! The menu that week will feature fun gaming theme lunches!
