BOARD OF HEALTH UPDATE – May 7, 2021

There have been four new cases in Worthington during the past week; none that involved the school or the Maples. No one who tested positive attended the town meeting or voted in person; none had previously been vaccinated.

WE ARE NOT YET OUT OF THE WOODS.

The state has reduced restrictions for retail establishments, events, and outdoor gatherings and for the wearing of marks outdoors (where 6 ft of distancing can be maintained); nonetheless, the Worthington Board of Health urges continued vigilance, especially when in crowded situations or indoors with people who you don’t usually spend indoor time with. Testing is now widely available and vaccinations are proceeding more easily. Please call the Board of Health if you are having trouble getting a test or an appointment.

Also, the Massachusetts DPH has just launched a new initiative: Get Back Massachusetts COVID-19 Testing Project: This is a program designed to get an accurate count of individuals infected with COVID-19 over time. The Get Back Mass project will survey and test all randomly selected participants, including those who do not have symptoms. They are paying $10.00 for the testing.
