Barbara was the most recent holder of the Worthington’s Boston Post Cane. The cane is a tradition observed by towns across Massachusetts and was begun in 1909 when the Boston Post publisher, Mr. Edwin A. Grozier, presented canes to towns across the Commonwealth to be held by the towns and presented to their oldest citizens.
