You may have noticed the yellow caution tape around the R. H. Conwell Elementary School in the last few weeks.
Work has begun on reroofing most of the school. The roof was damaged during a wind storm last winter and insurance coverage is allowing us to replace all the shingled roofing and repair the flat areas as well.
We are hopeful that the work will be complete before school begins for the fall.
Other repair work on the school’s walls and sprinkler system are also in the works. Design work has been done and we expect to go out to bid and then come to either a Special Town Meeting next year or Annual Town meeting for appropriations for those repairs.
