Dear Community:

Happy New Year!  It’s been so wonderful to have the students back after a long winter recess!  I hope that you and your family were able to have a restful holiday break!

Nature’s Classroom Fundraiser:  On Friday, January 13 at 6:00, the ⅚ class will be hosting movie night at school to raise funds for Nature’s Classroom.  The ⅚ class is planning to travel to Ivoryton, Connecticut for 2 nights from May 31 – June 2.  The approximate cost is about $300 per student which we hope to offset with fundraising.  Friday’s movie night admission is FREE, and students will be selling popcorn, drinks, and pizza to help raise money for Nature’s Classroom.   Donations are also welcome.   Please note that you cannot drop off your child for this event.  All students need to have an adult accompany them for the evening.

  • In addition to the Movie NIght, the ⅚ graders will be selling chocolate to friends and family via World’s Finest Chocolate.   Please let Mr.  M know if you are interested in buying any chocolate!  He can be reached at amaclachlan@hr-k12.org

Reminders from Nurse’s Office:
– If I held a flu clinic for students after school on several days, how many of you would be interested? Caveats: I cannot give a child their very first flu vaccine ever; a parent or guardian must be present; children 8 years old or younger receive two vaccines 4 weeks apart. Please respond at this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TCRQLTG

– If your child is going to be absent or tardy,  please cc mbreymann@hr-k12.org and louellet@hr-k12.org.

– There are so many lingering coughs. I have obtained an order for cough drops from our school physician. Students (except preschoolers) may have one every 2 hours for three days maximum. I will need a note from you giving me permission to give them to your child. I have cherry Vicks Formula 44; you may send your own cough drops with the permission slip if they need another type of cough drop. I need to keep them in the office. We do not give them to preschoolers due to the danger of choking.

– If you need Covid tests, text me.

– If you have a health concern about sending your child to school, you  may reach Nurse Meg by text at 413-320-8172 or email at mbreymann@hr-K12.org before 7:00 a.m. and until 7p.m.

– During school hours, Nurse Meg can be reached at 238-5856 extension 1.
