Pavillion Proposed

Dear Community:

Hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the summer weather!

Earlier this year a Pavilion Planning Committee was formed in order to explore building a timber frame pavilion to serve as an outdoor learning space for students and a space for Worthington community members to use.

The committee members include Zoe Spring, Alison Todd, Kevin O’Connor, Charley Rose, Lisa Ouellet, and Neil Godden. The committee has a draft sketch, central location identified, pavilion size (24×36), and estimated costs.

Early on in the process committee member Zoe Spring, with support from Christine Daktor, wrote a grant to secure funding, and the district is happy to announce we were awarded

$15,000 from the AKC Foundation to put towards the construction of a timber frame pavilion. Additionally, earlier this week, the Select Board gave us the “thumbs-up” to continue planning and engaging stakeholders for this project.

At this point, the planning committee is looking for a parent or community member interested in exploring other grant and funding sources to offset this project. If you are interested in joining this committee and be a part of this exciting project, please contact me @ gmorsedobosz@hr-k12.org. Thank you in advance!

Warmly,

Gretchen Morse-Dobosz Superintendent/Principal
