Here’s a quick question for you:
True or False: Reading aloud to children helps develop their vocabulary and reading skills, even before they can read independently?
If you answered true, you’re right! Reading just one book out loud a day can acquaint children to 78,000 words a year. It’s a simple yet powerful way to nurture young minds and encourage lifelong learning. Enjoy these read-alouds from Reading is Fundamental.

From The School Nurses: The cold weather is upon us!! Please make sure that your student(s) are appropriately dressed for the dropping temperatures. Students should have coats, hats, and mittens/gloves this time of year. We have had classes
miss opportunities to be outside as not all students have warm gear to ensure their safety. We have a small supply of extra stuff, but not enough to support the current need.
Another note on appropriate attire, please make sure that your student(s) wear or bring a pair of sneakers to participate in physical education class (Tuesdays), as well as if they are interested in playing sports during recess. We have seen a few injuries in the health ofï¬ce related to student’s wearing bulky work books.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students safe and warm!
From The Cafeteria: This week the students got to sample pink pineapple, which is just a bit sweeter than the original pineapple, and plantains. They were fried and seasoned with salt and garlic. Novembers HOTM: Kale MA Farm to School
