NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Planning Board
The Worthington Planning Board will hold a public hearing for proposed amendments to Zoning Bylaws:
- Town wide temporary moratorium on Large-Scale Ground-Mounted Solar Photovoltaic Installations and Battery Energy Storage Systems, as presented to the Planning Board through a Citizens’ Petition.
- Temporary moratorium on Large Scale Solar Installations in certain sensitive areas.
- Temporary moratorium on Large Scale Energy Storage Systems in certain sensitive areas.
- Amendment to section 2.6.7 (Site Plan Review Procedure) to provide a better mechanism for reviewing large projects, including the removal of constructive approval after 65 days.
The Hearing will be held Tuesday, February 24 @ 6:00 PM at the R. H. Conwell School. It will be followed at 7:00 PM by a Special Town Meeting to consider these amendments, among other business.

– our town officials love to blame the often frighteningly low turnout at special town meetings on the civic apathy of all THE REST of us residents…shame on you…Sadlythis (laughable small print afterthought) flaccid mention of the special town meeting that follows the hearing is not a mistake, but very much a pattern of troubling voter suppression by not doing anything more than the absolute minimum to make our residents aware of these special town meetings the same few people show up.
If the intention is democracy, might want to actually promote the special town meeting as much as the hearing… Also the hearing right before the town meeting seems to discriminate against working families who might not be able to give three hours on the same weeknight.
