The Worthington Fire-Rescue Department has implemented a new online Brush Burn Permit request system.
This system helps make Worthington compliant to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Regulations 310 CMR: DEP 7.07 “Open Burning”
- The permit system can be accessed online via smartphone or computer at: https://www.hcburnpermits.com/
- Worthington residents can “click on” the “Click Here” button to request a Permit.
- The permit system will have a “drop-down menu” of Worthington Streets to select from.
- Fill out the required information: name, full street address & #, person tending the burn, phone # where applicant can be reached, etc.
- Burn permits will no longer be granted by leaving a message on the Fire Department phone line.
There are several notable changes:
- Permits are only issued between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM.
- Permits are only issued ON THE DAY that you wish to burn and are valid for that day only.
- No permits are issued IN ADVANCE due to the potential for changing weather conditions.
- Burning will be allowed to start at 10:00am and must be extinguished by 4pm.
Additional information & Regulations are defined on the Worthington Fire Department homepage, and the Burn Permit Info page on the DEP website
