On Tuesday, May 20, 2025, Pamela Wicinas, co-chair of the Lafayette 200th Anniversary Celebration attended the Lafayette Day celebration in Boston hosted by the French Consulate and the Massachusetts Lafayette Society.

The event celebrated the incomparable contributions of the Marquis de Lafayette to the United States, as well as the strong and ongoing ties of French and American friendship. The festivities, held at the Union Club in Boston, began with the singing of the national anthems of both countries and a reading of the proclamation from Governor Mara Healy establishing May 20th as Lafayette Day.
Following a few words of appreciation from the French Counsul General, Mr. Mustafa Soykurt, and a historical talk by president of the Massachusetts Lafayette Society, Alan Hoffman, the invites processed to the Lafayette Memorial on the Boston Common to lay a wreath in honor of General Lafayette.
