Dear Community:

Today was a perfect morning for our last Walk to School Day.  Thank you to the Wellness Committee for organizing this event!  We are so excited to incorporate walk to school days into our monthly schedule for the next school year!

Worthington Graduates:  On Thursday, we celebrated Seniors, Payton Shippee and Jonah Graves.  Both attended R. H. Conwell for elementary school.  They enjoyed walking the halls and visiting their old classrooms.  We wish Payton the best of luck as he ventures off to Kent State to join the Track and Field team and study Journalism, and Jonah will attend the University of Florida to study Kinesiology!  Cheers and good luck to both of these young men!

Bike Rodeo:  Thank you to everyone who helped out with and participated in the bike rodeo last weekend! We had over 20 students attend this fun event with their families. Given the fantastic turnout and great time had by all, we are considering making this an annual event! Please enjoy some of the pictures we captured!

Worthington Public Safety Day:  On Thursday we welcomed Trooper Fisk, Worthington Chief Reinke, Trooper Steck, and Trooper Szawlowski for an informative public Safety presentation.  Students learned about the various roles these officers play in our community as law-enforcement officers.  They witnessed  the bomb sniffing dog in action, and watched Trooper Szawlowski maneuver the bomb robot.  We really appreciate the officers taking the time to come to the school to talk with our students!

During the afternoon, Fire Chief Dondiego and his team spoke to the children about Fire Safety in the home.  Chief reviewed standard safety protocols, reviewed basic first aid, and demonstrated how a fire person would look and sound if they had to come into your home for a fire rescue.  Students asked terrific questions and we really appreciate our local fire department sharing all that they do to keep Worthington safe.  Chief reminded students that if they are interested in becoming a junior firefighter, that they need to be 15 and have parental consent.  The Fire Chief invites students 15 and up to reach out to the fire department if they are interested in joining!

After-School Program Updates

The last day of the after-school program was Thursday, June 6! Happy Summer to our families and we will see our summer program students on Monday, June 8! Mrs. Madden will send out an email the week before camp starts with camp information and reminders.

News from the school nurses:
We have been in contact with the Dental Operations Manager at Hilltown Community Health Centers, and are looking to partner with them for the upcoming school year to bring dental services to students while in school! We hope that offering this service will increase accessibility to families to have their students’ oral health needs met without having to take time off from work, as well as reduce the time on learning students miss while receiving this essential care.
If you would be interested in taking advantage of this service, please complete this form.Completing the form is not a binding commitment to signing up for services. We are simply gauging interest to see if this is a service our school community would utilize. Thank you!
