Please join us Sunday, October 23 for our Annual Meeting, where Diane Brenner will give a curator’s talk on our current exhibit “Worthington in the 1790s.” Doors will open at 3:30 for exhibit viewing, plus wine and snacks. Around 4:40 we’ll cover some brief business matters, then at 5:00 Diane will speak followed by Q&A. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.
Last year WHS had a major acquisition: a day book that detailed transactions from a Worthington general store in 1794. The day book is a treasure trove of data on the town’s early inhabitants, economy and customs. Diane Brenner has expanded on its contents to present a broad portrait of Worthington in the post-Revolutionary War era. This is likely your last chance to catch the exhibit.
The Worthington Historical Society building is at 6 Williamsburg Road (Rte. 143), at the roundabout across from the post office and Corners Grocery.
