NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF WORTHINGTON
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) hereby gives notice that a public hearing is required pursuant to Sections 34 and 37 of Chapter 7C of the Massachusetts General Laws, and that it will conduct a public hearing to (i) consider reuse restrictions prior to the disposition of the Commonwealth property in the town of Worthington and to (ii) disclose the conditions and reasons for the proposed disposition, and significant change of use, of the Commonwealth property.
The Commonwealth property consists of approximately 3.7+ acres of state-owned land in the town of Worthington, that has been determined to be surplus to the needs of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Said property is located off West Street in the town of Worthington abutting the Fox Den Wildlife Management area. The surplus property is under the care and control of the Department of Fish and Game. The Commonwealth property, which has been determined surplus to current and foreseeable direct public uses, will be conveyed to the owners of 493 West Street in exchange for a suitable parcel of land, pursuant to Chapter 542 of the Acts of 1989.
The public hearing shall be conducted on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. at the Worthington Town Hall, located at 160 Huntington Road, Worthington, MA 01098.
Following the hearing the DCAMM Commissioner shall make a draft of any reuse restrictions, or the decision not to impose reuse restrictions, available to the public on the DCAMM web page at https://www.mass.gov/service-details/drafts-of-property-reuse-restrictions-available-for-public-comment and shall accept written comments thereon for a period of 21 days thereafter.
