Dear Community:
Update from the Third and Fourth Grade:
Dear Community:
The Third and Fourth grade class recently had a spring farmstand, and are hoping to do another one in the fall. We are planning to use the money earned for tools and seeds for our garden, food for the chickens, and other classroom projects. Thank you to the community for supporting us.
Sincerely,
The Third and Fourth Grade Class
Also, the class wanted everyone to know that Shadow, one of our three hens, has produced our first natural chicken hatching. So far there are five babies. We will send out a final count when all of them are hatched.
Spaghetti Supper: Thank you to the PTO (past and future) who organized a wonderful and well attended spaghetti supper and raffle last Saturday. The classroom basket raffle raised $270 which will be divided among the grades for future Nature Classroom trips.
R.H. Conwell is HIRING: We are looking to hire a preschool paraprofessional, classroom paraprofessional and a part-time cafeteria worker. You will find the job descriptions at www.schoolspring.com
Screen-Free Days: This coming Tuesday May 23 we begin our three day Screen-free adventure. If you don’t have the bandwidth to tackle this, I can understand. Do it in your own way. Since the goal is insight into the role screens play in your lives, would you consider trying an hour of non-screen family fun time: a game, a sing a long, a hike to the frog pond, an outdoor supper, a cool dip in the stream, a surprise visit to neighbors or friends with ice cream? Have fun!
Last Parent Coffee: This is the last one and a great opportunity to reflect on the year and look ahead. What worked well? Fundraisers? Book Bazaar versus Scholastic Book Fair? Communications? Please join me for complimentary coffee and muffins..
School Choice Openings: We currently have three school choice openings for next fall. One opening for First Grade and two spots in Grade 3 for the next fall.

Hilltown Family Center Playgroup: Every Monday at R.H. Conwell beginning at 8:30 for infants and toddlers beginning at 9:45.
The Hilltown Family Center will host four free Creative Movement Classes during its play-to-learn group at RH Conwell on Mondays 5/15, 5/22, 6/6, and 6/12. Caregivers and their little ones will be engaged in activities that build fine and gross motor skills, social interaction, and imaginative play. Families should try and arrive at 9:45 at RH Conwell Elementary in Worthington and proceed to the front door of the school. For information about this program please contact Susan LeBarron at slebarron@hchcweb.org. Laurel Lenski, a Berkshire native with a background in dance and expressive art, will lead the program. This program is generously funded through the Hilltown Community Health Center’s Hilltown Family Center through a Coordinated Family and COmmunity Engagement Grant through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
